After an initial collaboration at the third round of the 2019 championship, Liqui Moly, the Manufacturer of Premium Oils, Additives and Automotive Chemicals, exclusively made in Germany, has re-united with the SA SuperBike Series, taking the naming rights to the fifth round of the 2019 championship.

The event takes place on 26 & 27 July at Pretoria’s Zwartkops Raceway.

The SA SuperBike series caters for two classes, the 1000cc SuperBike class and the 600cc SuperSport class, and runs at circuits around South Africa on the same days as the country’s top 4-wheeled championship categories.

Liqui Moly was founded in Germany in 1957 and initially supplied oil additives. The product range slowly expanded with the addition of fuel additives and then the company expanded into the traditional motor oil business towards the end of the 1970s. Today the company supplies about 4000 products to the motor industry.

Liqui Moly has strong ties to motorcycle racing, being the official lubricant sponsor of both the Moto2 and Moto3 world championships, while locally they are official sponsors of the Seller Racing and AS Racing teams in the SA SuperBike series.

Brad Anassis, the SA SuperBike Series promoter, said, “We are delighted to have a company of the calibre of Liqui Moly back with us. Their long association with motorsport, both in South Africa and internationally, has given them an understanding of the demands of top-flight competition and we look forward to exposing their brand to our Gauteng-based fans after a successful Cape Town tie up.”
